Charu Jain is a senior technology executive with over 25 years of experience assisting companies in the Travel, Transportation, and Hospitality Industry leveraging technology as a major contributor to their growth and success.  Charu’s career reflects a demonstrated track record in leading successful large-scale transformation initiatives including multiple M&A efforts and setting and executing technology vision and delivering results. As a change leader, Charu has been helping companies navigate through change, disruption, and capture opportunity within the industry.

Currently, Charu is the Vice President and CIO of Alaska Air Group, the holding company for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air with over $8B in revenue. Alaska Airlines is now the fifth largest airline in the United States with 1,200 flights a day to 115 destinations. At Alaska, she leads a highly engaged Organization of more than 500 information technology professionals fueled to create an Airline People Love by connecting people through technology.

In her previous roles at United Airlines and working across industries at IBM and PWC as a thought partner and change leader, Charu has successfully delivered integrated, scalable technology solutions that enable fast-growth expansion, dramatic business efficiencies, and lasting improvements in market competitiveness, service delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Recognized throughout the Airline Industry as a thought leader, she is a sought after speaker at industry conferences and events where she shares best practices and approaches to innovative technology solutions, leading culture shifts (people behind the technology), and IT Operations.

With a passion for developing STEM talent, Charu serves on the University of Washington Foster School of Business Technology Advisory Board and the YearUp Puget Sound Board of Directors.

Selected as Computerworld’s Premier IT leader in 2009, Charu holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA in International Management.
