Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi is currently Executive Vice President of Sukosol Hotels, a collection of unique and bespoke hotels in Thailand. She leads the organisational development for the family owned and operated hotel group. She has spearheaded the exciting brand development of new projects, which have culminated in the re-launch of The Sukosol, a classic and artistic downtown Bangkok hotel; the launch of Pattaya’s hip Miami-inspired Wave hotel; and the opening of The Siam, the world-renown luxury urban resort on the Chao Phraya river. The group also operates the the long-established Siam Bayshore Resort and The Bayview Hotel in Pattaya; and will expand The Siam brand in Chiangmai in 2022.

Marisa is a frequent panelist at industry gatherings, such as the ‘Thailand Tourism Forum’; the ‘Women in Travel – WITx’ conference; International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) and she has mentored the Cornell-Nanyang Hospitality Institute’s ‘Thought Leaders in Operations Management’ roundtable.

As Chairperson of Environment for the Thai Hotels Association (THA), Marisa worked to minimize the negative effects caused by the hotel industry on the environment by encouraging hotels to join environmental conservation and sustainable tourism activities, and participate in green certification programmes. In June 2015 and 2016, the Green Leaf Foundation and Thai Hotel sAssociation joined hands to host Thailand’s first Green Procurement conference, to share knowledge and help promote green products among suppliers in the hotel industry. Marisa is the recipient of the ‘Outstanding Women Business Leaders for Green Growth Awards 2015’, administered by The Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Associations of Thailand and USAID.

Marisa was just voted as president of THA. The association has 970 hotels and 10 chapters across the country.
