Puerto Rico Tourism Company
Carla Campos is the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, the Government of Puerto Rico’s tourism agency. In this role, she is responsible for destination planning, development, policy, management and collaborating with Discover Puerto Rico, the newly created Destination Marketing Organization tasked with sales and marketing.
As the governmental representative for the Island’s tourism sector, her focus is on positively impacting tourism competitiveness by improving the visitor’s experience, performance data & insights, commercial relations with hotels, airline and cruise line partners, and proper planning for tourism development.
As a member of Governor Ricardo Rosselló’s cabinet, Campos has spearheaded the design and implementation of Puerto Rico’s Tourism Recovery Plan after hurricanes Irma and María, which have enabled a rapid pace recovery for the destination.
Prior to joining the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, she consulted for tourism boards and development agencies in the implementation of public-private partnerships for destination management.
She received a B.A. in sociology from Villanova University and obtained a Masters in Tourism Administration with a concentration in destination management from the George Washington University in Washington D.C.
